Drexel shot a season-worst 16.7 percent from three-point range in Thursday night’s 70-61 loss at Northeastern.
The Dragons were the only Big 5 team in action on Thursday, and they fell to 11-9 overall, 3-4 in the Coastal Athletic Association with their third loss in four games.
Yame Butler had 17 points and seven rebounds to pace Drexel, but Butler was ejected with 5 minutes, 29 seconds left for committing a Flagrant 2 foul. The Dragons had taken a five-point lead earlier in the second half before the Huskies took control.
Northeastern took advantage of 17 Drexel turnovers, scoring 19 points off of them, and used 16 offensive rebounds to score 20 second-chance points.
Kobe MaGee and Victor Panov also reached double-figures with 11 points apiece for Drexel, which finished 3 of 18 from long range. Overall, the Dragons shot 44.4 percent (24 of 54) from the field.
The Dragons return home to the DAC on Saturday to host Delaware at 2 o’clock.
